What is it?

Scientific research has proved that 80% of us will experience back pain in our life time.  As a result, we at Physioworks have designed a Back Check to identify areas of your body and lifestyle that could be predisposing you to back pain.  Your Back Check will take 30 minutes and include:

  • Postural Assessment - performing postural tests in sitting and standing.
  • Spinal Scan - looking for any potential problem areas such as spinal stiffness, tight or weak muscles, poor spinal movement and nerve tension.
  • Lifestyle review - including recommendations on how to improve your posture at work and in leisure activities to decrease the pressure and strain through your spine.
  • Prevention Advice - including the prescription of exercises relevant to your condition.

Your results will be captured through objective and photographic information - all of which will be emailed to you or burnt on a CD for your records.
Total Cost: £50- €80

How does it work?

The advancement of telecommunications and computer technology means that many employees sit essentially motionless for most of their working day.  This prolonged sitting, which is normally in a poor and unsupported position, causes excessive strain on muscles and ligaments which in turn leads to pain, stiffness and fatigue.  As a result many employees are at high risk of developing back problems.
At Physiowrs, we believe that prevention is better than cure.  The Back Check is designed to identify your risk of developing a back problem and giving you the skills to prevent it.  We achieve this through a combination of education of good care of your back in everyday life and preventative exercises which are specifically designed for you based on the results of your Back Check.
